Angelina: Where did you grow up? Can you share a little bit about your childhood?
Alexis: I grew up in three different places really, but all in California. We lived on the reservation in Humbolt county for the first part of my life. Then I spent my school years in Redding, and my teenage years in the Bay Area. Each environment has made its mark, and undoubtedly taught me about myself. The reservation enforced a sense of rooted culture in a land that I would come to find is deeply entrenched in identity crisis. Redding taught me that I am open minded and have a different set of moral values than popular culture elicits. The Bay Area was my playground and allowed me to put my lessons into action.
What was your very first job?
My first job was in retail of course. I got a permit at 16 so I could earn my own money, and have some freedom. It was at Anchor Blue back when those still existed.
What has modeling taught you?
Modeling has taught me a lot about life, art, and how much I value and appreciate women. It has taught me that not everything is what it seems, and that can be used to your advantage if you learn to not let it jade you too much. I also learned that I'm a vessel of creation, both off and on camera, and that anything worth a damn in this industry takes a ton of effort and resilience. I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to know and befriend women of all ages, races and titles all over the world. Its my favorite part, watching them, us, find our voices against the odds.
Growing up, who did you look up to style wise?
Blondie, Left Eye from TLC, Angelica Houston, the cast members of Scooby Doo and all of the Addams women, Morticia, Wednesday and grandma. All bad ass in their own way with marvelous attention to detail.
Do you have a mantra?
I have a choice, in everything I do, even if its out of my control. I can chose how to respond to it. And I also have to remind myself to be kind to MYSELF. I am always hustling and sometimes forget that I am a human with needs.

Comfort food?
Pho. I could live in a bowl of veggie pho with all the fixings.
Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years, and in 30 years.
I see myself in a community of of creative people, living and raising kids together. Not in a sexual or intimate way. I've just learned that it takes a village, and having friends and family near is crucial. I see myself running larger scale productions, and traveling with my daughter until we get to come home to our funky pad. I see myself being wiser in 20 years, which will just make everything more peaceful, if even internally.
